The Philadelphia Eagles have made a significant move before their Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, elevating veteran wide receiver Parris Campbell from the practice squad. This is the third time the Eagles have elevated Campbell this season. Campbell, who has played in two games so far this season, has contributed six catches for 30 yards and a touchdown in 99 offensive snaps. He was previously elevated due to injuries to star wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. With Brown and Smith back on the field, Campbell may not see much playing time in Week 6 but could remain on the roster as a depth piece for the rest of the season.

Head coach Nick Sirianni praised Campbell for his efforts and performance, stating that Campbell plays with relentless effort, physicality, and speed and has made the most of the opportunities he has been given. Sirianni convinced Campbell to stay with the team after initially being cut at the end of the preseason. As a former second-round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2019, Campbell spent four seasons with the Colts and played under Sirianni when he was the offensive coordinator there. Now, Campbell has the potential to be a key player for the Eagles moving forward.

In addition to elevating Campbell, the Eagles also elevated offensive lineman Jack Driscoll for the Browns game. Driscoll, who has played his entire career with the Eagles, is a versatile lineman who can play multiple positions on the offensive line. The Eagles are looking to improve their record and move above .500 after recording a 2-2 record before their Week 5 bye. They will be facing a tough Browns defense, despite the Browns currently sitting at 1-4 through five games this season. Campbell’s elevation to the active roster comes as Sydney Brown and Ainias Smith remain sidelined with injuries, potentially leading to some tough decisions for the team.

Moving forward, Campbell’s performance in Week 6 could impact the decisions the Eagles make regarding their roster as injured players begin to return. If Campbell continues to excel on the field, he may earn a more permanent role with the team, especially given his previous relationship with coach Sirianni and his ability to make plays. With the Eagles looking to build on their early-season success and make a playoff push, Campbell’s contributions could be crucial down the stretch.
