Security forces conducted simultaneous operations against the PKK’s so-called urban structure in Şanlıurfa, Mardin, and Elazığ. With the support of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), 6 suspects were detained, and efforts are underway to capture another suspect. The gendarmerie operation resulted in the seizure of 2 guns and organizational documents.

The operations targeted the PKK’s urban network, which is responsible for carrying out terrorist activities in urban areas. The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union, has been involved in a decades-long conflict with the Turkish government. The group seeks autonomy for the Kurdish minority in Turkey and has carried out numerous attacks targeting security forces and civilians.

The Turkish government has been intensifying its efforts to combat the PKK and dismantle its urban structures. These structures are responsible for recruitment, propaganda, logistical support, and carrying out attacks in urban areas. By targeting these networks, security forces aim to weaken the organization and prevent it from carrying out acts of terrorism.

The successful operations in Şanlıurfa, Mardin, and Elazığ demonstrate the government’s commitment to addressing the threat posed by the PKK’s urban structures. By working in coordination with intelligence agencies and security forces, the government is able to disrupt the organization’s activities and prevent future attacks. The seizure of weapons and organizational documents will provide valuable intelligence that can be used to further undermine the PKK’s operations.

The ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Turkey are part of a broader strategy to enhance national security and ensure the safety of the country’s citizens. The government remains determined to root out terrorist organizations and their support networks, in order to create a more stable and secure environment. Through continued cooperation between security forces and intelligence agencies, Turkey aims to effectively counter the threat of terrorism and maintain peace and stability in the region.
