Curbee, a mobile service technology for auto dealers, is expanding its reach nationally after supplying the technology to 11 dealership groups with about 40 outlets. The company’s CEO, Denise Leleux, believes that customers are unaware that they can have vehicle service done in their driveways, rather than having to take their cars to dealerships or garages. With the mobile service platform, tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and battery replacements can be conveniently performed by a service technician who comes to the customer’s home.

Founded in 2020 and backed by DVx Ventures, Curbee’s mobile service tech platform is designed to integrate into existing dealer management software. Customers are able to schedule service appointments and are given four-hour blocks for options. The night before the appointment, customers are notified of a one-hour window when the work will be done, and a service van arrives at the designated time to perform the necessary tasks. This innovative approach to vehicle service aims to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention while also increasing revenue for dealers.

According to Leleux, dealers often express goals of improving customer relationships, satisfaction, and revenue, but may face challenges in terms of physical space or capital for expansion. Mobile service offers a solution by meeting customers where they are and providing convenient and efficient service without the need for customers to visit the dealership. The concept of mobile service aligns with the growing trend of on-demand and personalized services in other industries, such as dog grooming and grocery delivery, making vehicle maintenance more accessible and convenient for consumers.

Mobile service can be implemented in various ways, starting with simple steps like picking up a customer’s car from their home, performing the necessary work, and returning the vehicle. More elaborate forms of mobile service involve conducting diagnostic work, addressing recalls, or servicing airbags at the customer’s location. Major automakers are increasingly urging their dealers to adopt mobile service as a way to enhance customer experience and stay competitive in the evolving automotive industry landscape. Curbee’s system utilizes advanced technology, including AI-powered scheduling, predictive maintenance analytics, and personalized customer communication tools to streamline the service process.

The convenience and flexibility of mobile service not only benefit customers by saving them time and effort but also provide dealers with an opportunity to expand their service offerings and reach a broader customer base. By meeting customers where they are and adapting to their needs and preferences, dealers can build stronger relationships and foster brand loyalty. As the automotive industry continues to evolve and embrace digital innovation, mobile service represents a strategic initiative for dealers to differentiate themselves in a crowded market and stay ahead of the competition. With Curbee leading the way in national expansion, more dealers are expected to adopt mobile service as a way to drive growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
