The Corner Store in SoHo has become the newest hot spot in New York City, attracting celebrities like Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid. The restaurant, owned by the team behind Catch and Catch Steak, has quickly gained popularity after years of being considered overpriced and touristy. The Corner Store has been described as having “Polo Bar vibes without the Karens” by diners such as Meg Radice, who runs the food review account The VIP List on TikTok.

Specializing in classic cocktails, The Corner Store offers a variety of martinis and even serves a $40 “Martini Service” for two. The food menu features nostalgic comfort food like pepperoni “pizza roll,” artichoke dip, and lobster frites, albeit at a higher price point. This is the first restaurant opened by Catch Hospitality in five years and the first to not include “Catch” in its name, marking a new direction for the group.

Catch Hospitality initially gained prominence with its flagship restaurant in the Meatpacking District in 2011, attracting a celebrity clientele and serving viral menu items in trendy settings. However, over the years, the restaurant lost its appeal and became known for attracting out-of-towners and wannabe models. The decline in popularity was highlighted in an episode of “Real Housewives of New York,” where the restaurant was dismissed as being for “D-list models.”

Despite its previous reputation, The Corner Store is currently a sought-after dining destination, with reservations becoming difficult to secure. Celebrities and influencers like Bethenny Frankel have praised the restaurant for its menu and trendy atmosphere. While the restaurant wasn’t specifically targeting influencers, they appreciate the attention and positive reviews from guests. The enthusiasm for The Corner Store has created a buzz around the new establishment.
