Istanbul Police Department teams have launched an investigation into the slashing of tires of several vehicles on a street in Kaptanpaşa Mahallesi. After reviewing security camera footage, the teams determined that on May 11th around 02:30, a suspect pulled out a sharp object from his pocket and slashed the tires of 13 parked cars before fleeing the scene.

Following further investigations, the identity of the 19-year-old suspect E.A. was confirmed, and he was apprehended at his home in Hüseyinağa Mahallesi by police teams. The suspect reportedly claimed during questioning at the police station that he could not remember the incident due to being intoxicated at the time.

The suspect E.A., who is facing charges of “damaging property,” was processed at the police station before being transferred to the courthouse for further legal proceedings. The police department is continuing its efforts to ensure the safety and security of the residents in the area.

Residents in Kaptanpaşa Mahallesi expressed relief that the suspect was caught and taken into custody. They emphasized the importance of surveillance cameras in deterring criminal activities and hoped that such incidents would not happen again in their neighborhood.
