The survey results indicate that almost half of women today experience stress related to aging. Gen Z and millennials seem to be more anxious about getting older compared to Gen X and baby boomers. A significant number of younger women feel older than their actual age, with Gen Z expressing concerns about appearing older more than any other generation. Despite these anxieties, many women are making an effort to embrace aging gracefully, with the majority expressing a desire to combat signs of aging skin.

A large portion of women, especially those in the younger generations, are worried about others noticing signs of aging on their skin. The survey revealed that nearly half of women noticed the first signs of aging skin by the age of 40, with common concerns being fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and neck creases. To address these issues, a majority of women take their skincare routines seriously, using multiple products each day. However, a significant number of women do not extend their skincare beyond the face, neglecting areas such as the neck that are prone to showing signs of aging early on.

Celebrity spokesperson Jenna Dewan emphasized the importance of incorporating neck-specific skincare products into daily routines to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Despite this advice, a majority of women do not pay significant attention to caring for their neck and lack confidence in knowing how to properly care for it. Factors such as stress levels, bad habits, and lack of sunscreen use are believed to contribute more to aging skin compared to modern factors like technology-related “tech neck,” which only a quarter of women are aware of as a potential cause of aging.

Dermatologists recommend introducing neck creams and other targeted products into skincare routines to combat the effects of “tech neck” and other signs of aging on the neck and decolletage area. This sensitive skin is often one of the first areas to show aging, making it essential to prioritize prevention and care. Women are advised to modernize their skincare routines to address these emerging concerns and maintain a youthful appearance in the long term.

The survey was conducted by Talker Research on behalf of NEOSTRATA, involving 2,000 American women of different generations. The results provided insights into women’s attitudes towards aging and skincare, revealing a range of concerns and habits related to addressing signs of aging. The findings highlight the importance of educating women about holistic skincare practices that target all areas prone to aging, including the neck and decolletage, to maintain a healthy and youthful appearance as they age.
