A woman in her 40s was arrested in Longueuil, Que., after allegedly throwing boiling water at a 10-year-old boy. The incident occurred as the boy was passing by the woman’s multi-residential building near the intersection of Curé-Poirier Boulevard East and Chambly Road. The boy, who remains unnamed due to being a minor victim of violence, was scalded on October 2 while walking home from school with friends. He arrived home screaming for help, having suffered burns to his head, face, torso, and back.

The boy’s father, Tewa Pierre Senin, described the incident as unbearable and rushed his son to the hospital. The police arrived an hour later, and the boy’s mother, Marie Ettian, stated that he has been traumatized by the attack and is now fearful. The family had only recently moved to the area, and their son had started attending the school near the woman’s residence just a month prior to the incident. The woman allegedly claimed that the boy had been knocking on her door for the past three years, a claim the family denies.

After looking for the woman near the site of the attack, the boy’s father confronted her and asked why she assaulted his son. The woman reportedly justified her actions by saying, “That’ll teach you to knock on people’s doors.” She was subsequently arrested and questioned by investigators, facing charges of assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon. Although she was released on the same day with conditions, including not contacting the child or his family, the family remains fearful, especially with the woman’s proximity to a school.

The incident has left the family shaken and worried about the safety of other children in the area. Longueuil police are urging the public to contact 911 in cases of neighborhood disputes rather than taking matters into their own hands. The boy, who sustained significant scarring from the burns, continues to struggle with the emotional impact of the attack. The family is seeking justice and reassurance that such a traumatic incident will not occur again. The woman’s actions have had lasting consequences on the victim and his loved ones, highlighting the need for community safety and conflict resolution.
