According to a statement from the Istanbul Police Department, the Traffic Control Branch Directorate has identified the roads to be closed to traffic and alternative routes to be taken due to the celebrations for the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23.
Between the hours of 11:00-17:00, the following roads will be closed to traffic: Kazım Orbay Street in Cumhuriyet Neighborhood from the entrance of Silahşör Street to the intersection of Harzemşah Street, Veteriner Hilmi Street in 19 May Neighborhood from the entrance of Doktor Şevket Bey Street to the intersection of Hamidiye Suyu Street, Sebahattin Delice Street in Yayla Neighborhood from the entrance of Talimhane Street to the intersection of Eczacı Street, Çağlar Street in Mecidiyeköy Neighborhood from the entrance of Kısmet Street to the intersection of Lati Lokum Street, and Aydın 1 Street in Mahmut Şevket Paşa Neighborhood from the entrance of Mithat Paşa Street to the intersection of Örnek Street.
As an alternative, drivers can use Silahşör Street and Harzemşah, Doktor Şevket Bey, Opr. Raif Bey, Talimhane, Hilal, Kısmet, Mithatpaşa Caddesi and Örnek streets to reach their destinations during the road closures for the celebrations.
