The family of Mica Miller, who tragically died by suicide after accusing her estranged pastor husband John-Paul “JP” Miller of abuse, has reached a legal settlement with him. Both legal teams in the case have agreed on the terms of the settlement, which are sealed under a confidentiality agreement. The settlement came after a probate court hearing on Mica Miller’s estate, in which it was decided that JP Miller would be the personal representative of his wife’s estate. As part of the agreement, Mica Miller’s family has agreed not to pursue any wrongful death lawsuit against JP Miller.

Mica Miller, 30, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was found in Lumber River State Park in North Carolina. Court records show that the couple was in the process of getting a divorce at the time of Mica’s death. Mica’s family claimed that she kept a journal suggesting she was a victim of abusive coercive control. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed publicly, but it was reported that Mica’s sister, Sierra Francis, would dismiss her request to be the personal representative of Mica Miller’s estate.

A lawyer representing JP Miller stated that a full and final settlement agreement has been reached between JP Miller, Solid Rock Church, Inc., the Estate of Mica Francis Miller, and the individual members of the Francis family. The lawyer mentioned that all parties involved have set their differences aside to allow Mica’s memory to live on. Both sides consider the matter closed, and the lawyer urged those who have protested outside of Solid Rock Church to recognize the time of healing and move on with their lives.

JP Miller denied abusing Mica during their marriage and accused her family of being motivated by money. Mica’s friend, Tim Carter, expressed doubt about the circumstances of her death, indicating that he did not believe she would take her own life. In an affidavit, Mica’s sister, Sierra Francis, stated that Mica had warned family members that if she ended up with a bullet in her head, it was not by her own hand, but by JP’s. JP Miller, in response, mentioned Mica’s struggles with mental health and disagreements with her family about taking medication for alleged suicidal thoughts.

Moving forward, Mica’s family’s attorney emphasized the importance of putting the case behind them and focusing on the next chapter that matters. The attorney stated that the settlement represents justice for Mica, and that they do not want the Francis family or anyone else to be dragged through litigation for years. The focus is now on healing and moving on from the tragedy. JP Miller mentioned that Mica’s family did not trust him and that she struggled with mental health issues, leading to arguments about her need for medication before her death.
