Sienna Miller, Abbey Lee, and Kevin Costner were all in attendance at the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 during the final day of the Venice Film Festival. The Western movie was directed, produced, and co-written by Kevin, who also stars in the film alongside Sienna, Sam Worthington, and Jena Malone. Sienna opted for a see-through white jumpsuit with hot pants underneath, complete with black leather knee-high boots, while Abbey stunned in a sheer lace gown with an embellished thigh-split skirt. Kevin looked dapper in a grey suit and white shirt at the prestigious event.

The Venice Film Festival began on August 28 and featured over 20 films in the Venezia 81 competition. Maria, a biographical psychological thriller starring Angelina Jolie, kicked off the festival on August 29. Sienna and Abbey have been busy filming the third film in the Horizon trilogy, directed by Kevin. Chapter 1 of the series premiered in May at Cannes and US cinemas the following month. Despite its lackluster performance at the box office, Warner Bros. Pictures is hoping for a turnaround with Chapter 2.

Horizon: An American Saga is a series of films that chronicle the 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement in the American west. The ensemble cast includes Kevin Costner, Sam Worthington, and Luke Wilson, among others. Chapter 3 began shooting in May 2024, with Chapter 4 already in development. The film received a 10-minute standing ovation at Cannes and has an ensemble cast that includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, Giovanni Ribisi, Ella Hunt, Danny Huston, and Luke Wilson.

Costner, who financed the film himself after struggling to find a studio for the project, has put $38 million of his own funds into Horizon. He took out a loan against his Santa Barbara home after spending over 30 years trying to get the film made. Costner previously mentioned his plan to make four Horizon films, shot back-to-back. This project marks his fourth time directing a film, following Dances With Wolves, The Postman, and Open Range. He has been widely successful in his career, with Dances With Wolves winning seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Despite its promising concept and star-studded cast, Horizon has received mixed reviews and a low score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a rating of 38% on the Tomatometer. The film’s future success remains uncertain, especially after the disappointing performance of Chapter 1 at the box office. Chapter 2’s theatrical release has been delayed indefinitely, leaving fans and critics alike questioning the fate of the Horizon series. As the saga of Horizon continues to unfold, audiences will have to wait and see whether the Western epic can live up to its potential and secure a lasting legacy in the world of cinema.
