Selena Gomez’s boyfriend Benny Blanco has received the approval of her Wizards of Waverly Place costar David Henrie. Henrie described Blanco as a “super cool dude” after their first sit-down hangout, where Blanco impressed Henrie with his knowledge of where to find delicious takeout, particularly great Italian food. The singer introduced Henrie to polenta bolognese and joked about it being like “adult baby food” due to its texture.

Gomez and Blanco first started off as friends in 2015 when they worked together on her songs “Same Old Love” and “Kill Em With Kindness” for her Revival album. Rumors about their relationship began circulating in July 2023 when they were seen hanging out with Paris Hilton. Gomez confirmed their relationship in December 2023 by commenting “Facts” on an Instagram post that mentioned her relationship with Blanco.

Blanco shared details of their first date during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in May, revealing that Gomez had invited him to hang out and made a comment about what she would have worn if she knew it was a date. According to an insider, Gomez is very happy in her relationship with Blanco, and they have discussed marriage, with the romance being described as “endgame” for the singer.

Henrie and Gomez became friends while working together on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 to 2012. Both stars are producing and reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Henrie expressed his excitement about reuniting with Gomez on set and teased that there are touching scenes that will resonate with fans of the original show.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Henrie praised Gomez’s quick wit and highlighted the emotional moments in the revival that he believes will touch fans of the original series. He expressed his anticipation for viewers to see the new content and emphasized how enjoyable it was to work with Gomez again.
