Sean Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, was arrested on numerous fraud and theft charges following a police raid on the singer’s rented Florida mansion. The raid was triggered by a lawsuit filed in February against Kingston alleging that he purchased promotional items without paying for them. Among the items was a 232-inch TV that Kingston posed with in pictures. Attorney Dennis Card claimed that Kingston engaged in organized fraud by luring people into releasing items without payment using his celebrity status.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the investigation into Kingston began in Dania Beach and is ongoing. The complaint alleges false representations by Kingston, including claims of a working relationship with Justin Bieber, with whom he has not collaborated since 2010. The lawsuit also alleges that Kingston promised to produce promotional videos with Bieber to reduce payments, but had no intention of doing so.
Card filed a lawsuit against Kingston, and a detective in Broward County contacted him after reading the lawsuit. Turner, who has a history of filing false loan applications and bank fraud, has now been arrested and faces fraud and theft charges. Aerial footage showed Turner being led into a police car in handcuffs following the raid on Kingston’s mansion.
According to investigators, Kingston will be booked into jail in San Bernardino, California. The Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest of Kisean Anderson, also known as Sean Kingston, without incident on a warrant for numerous fraud and theft charges. Card claimed that Turner was complicit in Kingston’s fraud and knew what was going on, indicating a systematic fraud scheme involving Kingston’s celebrity status.
Turner previously pled guilty to four counts of filing false loan applications and one count of bank fraud in 2006, leading to a 16-month prison sentence and five years of supervised release. The ongoing investigation into Kingston’s alleged fraud and theft activities suggests a pattern of deception and false representations involving high-value items. The lawsuit filed against Kingston by Ver Ver Entertainment highlights the alleged schemes used by the singer to obtain promotional items without payment through manipulation and false promises.
The arrest of Turner and the subsequent booking of Kingston mark a significant development in the investigation into the alleged fraud and theft activities of the singer and his associates. The collaboration between law enforcement agencies and legal representatives in pursuing justice for the victims of Kingston’s alleged fraudulent schemes demonstrates a commitment to holding individuals accountable for financial crimes. The impact of these arrests on Kingston’s reputation and career remains to be seen as the investigation continues into the extent of his involvement in the fraudulent activities outlined in the lawsuit.
