Ryan Reynolds finally agreed to appear on Hot Ones alongside his Deadpool & Wolverine costar, Hugh Jackman, after “avoiding” the show for some time. Hot Ones host Sean Evans shared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that Reynolds had a chance encounter with him before the shoot, setting the stage for a great episode. Reynolds and Jackman appeared on the show on July 25 and ate spicy chicken wings while discussing their scrapped idea for a movie called Alpha Cop.

Reynolds revealed that the original idea for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie was to shoot a fake movie called Alpha Cop that was intentionally bad. The movie was about two guys sharing one brain to create the perfect cop and was meant to be a horrible film that would surprise audiences when it was revealed to be Deadpool & Wolverine 5 minutes into the movie. Reynolds expressed his shock that some of the movie’s biggest surprises weren’t leaked online, including several cameos from actors like Chris Evans, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Garner, and Channing Tatum, who played various Marvel characters in 20th Century Fox-produced movies released in the 2000s.

Deadpool & Wolverine features Evans reprising his role as Johnny Storm/Human Torch from Fox’s Fantastic Four franchise, Garner returning as Elektra from Fox’s Daredevil, Snipes as Blade, and Dafne Keen as Laura/X-23 from Logan. Tatum also finally gets to play X-Men character Gambit on the big screen, a role he was set to star in his own spinoff before it was scrapped after Disney acquired the studio. The movie was filled with surprises and nods to the various Marvel movies produced by Fox in the 2000s, creating an exciting experience for fans.

The episode of Hot Ones with Reynolds and Jackman was highly anticipated, as Evans knew it would be a good one after his encounter with Reynolds before filming. The actors ate increasingly spicier hot wings while discussing their movie ideas and past roles, providing entertainment for viewers. Reynolds and Jackman’s chemistry on screen added to the excitement of the episode, with the actors sharing anecdotes and jokes while eating the hot wings.

Reynolds’ decision to finally appear on Hot Ones was met with excitement from fans, who were eager to see him and Jackman interact on the show. The episode delivered on expectations, with entertaining moments and interesting insights into the actors’ careers and projects. Reynolds’ revelation about the fake movie idea and the surprises in Deadpool & Wolverine added another layer of interest to the episode, making it a must-watch for fans of the actors and the Marvel universe. Overall, the episode was a success and left viewers eagerly anticipating the next celebrity guest on Hot Ones.
