A Pennsylvania man named Joshua Moser was charged with murder after his roommate, David Hittinger, was reported missing on his birthday. Hittinger’s remains were found dismembered in a cemetery and quarry. Moser has been charged with criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering/fabricating evidence. Hittinger was reported missing on May 11 and was last seen at Moser’s home, where he had recently moved in.

Body parts belonging to Hittinger were found inside garbage bags at a cemetery, and additional parts were discovered along a trail and at a quarry. The medical examiner determined Hittinger’s manner of death as a homicide, although the autopsy is still ongoing. Moser’s neighbor reported hearing yelling coming from his home the day before Hittinger was reported missing. Moser allegedly confessed to strangling Hittinger and hitting him in the head with a hammer.

Authorities conducted a search of Moser’s home and found evidence, including blood and hair. There was an effort to conceal blood in the basement, and additional items with blood on them were found during a second search. The reasons behind the alleged killing are unclear, but the district attorney mentioned that there was likely a disagreement leading to Hittinger’s demise. Moser was taken into custody on an unrelated charge but is now being held without bail.

The case has shocked the community, with neighbors expressing surprise at the violent incident occurring in their midst. Moser’s neighbor, Caydence Waterhouse, recalled hearing yelling from Moser’s home a day before Hittinger’s disappearance. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the killing, but the evidence collected suggests a violent confrontation between the roommates. Moser, who confessed to the crime, now faces serious charges for murder and related offenses.

The investigation into Hittinger’s death is ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather evidence and conduct interviews. The discovery of dismembered body parts in various locations suggests a gruesome and disturbing crime. Moser’s actions leading up to and following Hittinger’s disappearance indicate a calculated effort to conceal the crime and avoid detection. The brutality of the crime and the lack of a clear motive have left many in the community in shock and disbelief. The legal process will now proceed as Moser faces the consequences of his alleged actions.
