President Donald Trump’s team is making history with its unprecedented speed, hiring over 1,300 staff for his new administration already.
The Presidential Personnel Office (PPO), led by Sergio Gor, has already broken a record for day-one hires of any Commander in Chief.
The hiring has been swift but also highly selective, with a focus on bringing in qualified and competent individuals who have demonstrated commitment to Trump’s America First agenda to the White House.
“The biggest mistake I made” was hiring “bad people, or disloyal people,” Trump told Joe Rogan in an interview last year before the election.
Gor, who is in charge of hiring around 4,000 people needed for the new administration, is himself a longtime ally of Trump who has remained close to the President since 2016. He is deeply trusted by Trump’s family — even launched a publishing company with the President’s son, Donald Trump Jr., in 2021.
“Sergio Gor and the entire PPO team have done a fantastic job of hiring for my father. America expects results, and these hires will deliver,” Trump Jr. told The Post. “The RINOs [Republicans in Name Only] and Never Trumpers will never step foot in the Trump White House.”
Trump also started his second day in office saying he is clearing the White House of Biden appointees, writing on Truth Social “over a thousand” people are being let go today, including celebrity chef Jose Andres and retired General Mark Milley.
Trump and Gor are also barring anyone who worked for or is a close ally to a number of mainstream Republican figures who have previously criticized the president.
That list includes GOP mega donor Charles Koch, mainstream Republican figures Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Liz and Dick Cheney, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan as well as those who previously served in his administration but later turned on him, including John Bolton and Generals James Mattis and Mark Esper.
“In order to save time, money, and effort, it would be helpful if you would not send, or recommend to us, people who worked with, or are endorsed by [the above]… or any of the other people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, more commonly known as TDS,” Trump previously posted on Truth Social.
The move is a dramatic shift from Trump’s first term in 2017 when centrist GOP figures were given prime appointments.
“President Trump gave a clear mandate: hire loyal individuals who will execute his agenda. The entire PPO team is doing a fantastic job … while at the same time blocking bad actors,” Trump Campaign Advisor Alex Bruesewitz added.
Trump himself has also posted about the incoming hires — writing on Truth Social, “They are outstanding in every way, and you will see the fruits of their labor over the coming years.”
