14. ‘Star Trek: Section 31′”Star Trek: Section 31″ was the first “Trek” film in almost a decade. Sadly it was generic, boring, and barely had a plot to speak of.13. ‘Star Trek V: The Final Frontier'”Star Trek V: The Final Frontier” is the only film William Shatner directed. We’re all thankful for that.12. ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’If Michael Bay made ‘Star Trek’ movies, it would look something like this overly long mess of a film.11. ‘Star Trek: Nemesis'”Nemesis” is about 2 hours long, feels much longer, and makes the poor choice of killing off Brent Spiner’s Data. It’s such a poor choice, “Trek” has resurrected him twice.10. ‘Star Trek: Generations’What’s truly tragic about “Generations” is that it could have been one of the better “Trek” films if the choice hadn’t been made to kill off Captain Kirk unceremoniously. Or, alternatively, to not kill him off at all. “Generations” is not bad until it chooses to kill off an icon by dropping a bridge on him.9. ‘Star Trek: Insurrection’It’s not that “Insurrection” is a bad movie, but more that it’s a really good episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” with better special effects. Take out the special effects and a few plot points and this movie could fit right into Season 3 or 4 of “TNG.”8. ‘Star Trek Beyond'”Star Trek Beyond” is not the most memorable entry in the franchise, but it is a lot of fun. It was also a breath of fresh air after “Into Darkness.”7. ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’What is fantastic about the first “Star Trek” film is that it is, in many ways, the one film in the franchise that feels, from start to finish, like a pure manifestation of Gene Roddenberry’s mission for the franchise. What is not as fantastic is that it is a long movie that too often relies on characters saying absolutely nothing and looking surprised at the special effects.6. ‘Star Trek III: The Search for Spock’The best part of “The Search for Spock” is Christopher Lloyd’s portrayal of the Klingon Commander Kruge. He is the first of a new kind of Klingon and it’s blood wine barrels of fun watching him rage.5. ‘Star Trek’ (2009)The Kelvinverse films can be hit and miss, but the first of them was one of the best in the franchise. Even more than most of the original crew films, it felt like OG “Star Trek” (with way better special effects).4. ‘Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country’Full of action, mystery, and political intrigue, “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country” was the perfect send-off for the original crew.3. ‘Star Trek: First Contact’This is probably the closest “Star Trek” will ever come to a horror movie, with parts of it feeling more like “Alien” than “Trek,” and in the best ways.2. ‘Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home'”Star Trek IV” is arguably more fun and full of heart than any film in the franchise before or since. The crew’s interaction with the late 20th century is full of classic humor, balanced well with the suspense.1. ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’After 43 years, “The Wrath of Khan” remains the gold standard of “Star Trek.”Ricardo Montalban’s portrayal of the vengeful Khan coupled with the tense, suspenseful starship battles, and the still heartbreaking sacrifice made by Spock (Leonard Nimoy) is a combination that is still full of fun and grandeur.More Movies:Giancarlo Esposito Wants To Play This Batman Villain For The DCUMarvel Has All But Confirmed This Hero Won’t Survive ‘Thunderbolts’
