McDonald’s Snack Wrap is officially making a comeback.

In a new interview with “Good Morning America,” McDonald’s USA president Joe Erlinger confirmed that the cult-favorite menu item that was once discontinued will be returning in 2025.

“The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,” Erlinger said. “This has a cult following. I get so many emails into my inbox about this product. It will be back in 2025.”

“It does [have a cult following]. It really does,” he added.

However, Erlinger said that he couldn’t reveal the “exact” return date for the Snack Wrap due to “competitive reasons.”

The Snack Wrap was discontinued in 2016 for a variety of reasons: it was difficult and time-consuming to put together, sales weren’t as sturdy as they’d hoped and all-day breakfast was more favorable.

The beloved meal consists of chicken, lettuce, shredded cheese and sauce wrapped in a warm tortilla.

Erlinger’s announcement comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared the deadly E. coli outbreak linked to slivered onions served on McDonald’s Quarter Pounder burgers over.

“We let people down. I want to apologize to all of our customers who were harmed by this incident,” Erlinger said in the “GMA” interview on Thursday.

The outbreak killed one and infected 104 people across 14 states, according to the CDC. At least 34 people were hospitalized and at least four developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a rare but serious disease that can cause kidney failure, according to the agency.

“We stopped using the supplier facility from which they came and we stopped sourcing onions from the farm,” Erlinger added. “The CDC and FDA announcement earlier this week gave us the all-clear. The investigation is over, but the work’s not done at McDonald’s.”

“Food safety is still our top priority,” he said. “We need to continue to rebuild trust with consumers – we have work to do that, it will be ongoing.”
