Is this dish is an im-pasta?
Giada De Laurentiis is turning heads with her latest pasta dish on TikTok.
On Tuesday, the celebrity chef shared a video of herself eating pasta covered in chocolate, saying that “nothing is more comforting and more of a hug” than the dish.
“It’s not the sexiest of dishes, but it’s dang good,” De Laurentiis admitted.
In the video, she shared the recipe for her bizarre concoction, showing herself making the pasta first as she shared that this meal came into her life when she was a kid.
“My mom used to do it with Nutella or chocolate chips,” the Italian chef shared. “But I’m also the kid who had chocolate sandwiches for breakfast, so I don’t think it’s that weird.”
Once the pasta was cooked, drained and in a separate bowl, De Laurentiis put a few spoonfuls of chocolate hazelnut spread into the pasta and mixed it up.
She finished it up by grating Italian chocolate over the dish, declaring that “it’s like your parmesan cheese.”
“Life is so good,” she said while eating the chocolate pasta. “I challenge you guys to try it sometime.”
De Laurentiis first shared her chocolate pasta in a video posted on Nov. 13 when she had her team try her “childhood favorite” meal.
The women went in skeptical but ended up enjoying it, saying that the pasta tasted like Nutella on toast or a Nutella crepe.
However, people in the comments section weren’t as compelled to try it out.
“Giada, I love you like cooked food but this is a bridge too far,” one person wrote.
“Giada… I love you… but no,” another said.
“I’ve gained 10lbs just watching this,” someone quipped.
“Someone needs to go check on Giada! 😂😂😂” a user laughed.
“I thought they were wet snails,” one observed.
Others were more willing, with one even sharing that they’ve had it before.
“I tried that the other day and thought it tasted exactly like a Nutella crepe too,” they wrote.
“If Giada says to eat pasta with chocolate… we eat pasta with chocolate!!” another declared.
“This looks bomb idc what anyone says,” someone else said.
