April is almost over, but there are still some exciting new movies and TV shows to look forward to this week. Netflix is releasing Dead Boy Detectives, a series that follows teen ghosts solving mysteries in the same universe as The Sandman. Another highlight is the Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff series featuring Knuckles on Paramount Plus, along with the return of X-Men ’97 on Disney Plus and The Sympathizer on Max. The season finale of Shōgun is also airing on Hulu.

On Netflix, Dead Boy Detectives premieres this week, with all eight episodes dropping at once. The show follows teen ghosts as they tackle cases that no one else can. Over on Disney Plus, Disneynature’s Tiger documentary is available for Earth Day, focusing on a young tigress named Ambar and her cubs. Paramount Plus is offering a Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff series set between the second and third movies, featuring the character Knuckles voiced by Idris Elba.

Prime Video is premiering the second season of Them, an eight-episode horror anthology series set in 1991 and starring Deborah Ayorinde as LAPD homicide detective Dawn Reeve. Hulu is releasing Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, a four-part docuseries about the rock band and its frontman, covering both their past and future. The series features personal videos, unreleased demos, and catches up with the band in February 2022.

While Netflix initially announced the rom-com Anyone but You to debut this week, the tweet has since been deleted, and the streaming service has not provided further details. Despite the uncertainty, there are still plenty of other exciting titles to keep viewers entertained throughout the week. Whether you’re a fan of mysteries, nature documentaries, superhero series, or horror anthologies, there’s something for everyone on the streaming platforms this week. Make sure to check out these new releases and add them to your streaming calendar for a thrilling viewing experience.
