Summarize this content to 2000 words in 6 paragraphs When Emma Corrin was cast as the supervillain Cassandra Nova in Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine, Corrin knew that the occasion necessitated a no-holds-barred press tour wardrobe. But the actor didn’t exactly lean into the method dressing of it all—instead, they teamed up with their longtime stylist Harry Lambert to create looks that nodded to their character without going overboard.Corrin showed Lambert photos of Cassandra’s costume to serve as a jumping off point. “Because of the size of this tour and the scale of the project, we knew that we needed to start early,” Corrin recalls. “Mainly, I feel like we just wanted to do our usual fun, quite wild thing, but take it a step further because it’s Marvel.” Thus, they begot their own take on Cassandra, focusing especially on the character’s penchant for belts, which they riffed on with (among others) a Schiaparelli couture getup, Miu Miu biker boots, and a Hodakova dress.“Although there were a few nods there, we tried to not go full into that world too much. I think it was more about an essence rather than a direct reference,” Lambert tells Vogue. “[It] works for some people, but I think you can end up getting a little bit deep into a movie. It doesn’t necessarily always have to link to the character that you’re portraying. The essence of Cassandra can come out in the makeup, hair, and energy rather than being too literal.” Lambert calls Corrin’s Schiaparelli couture belt jacket, pants, and corset “our biggest homage to Emma’s character. The rest of the looks really had a slight gothic-ness to them, a slight evil, a slight darkness to them,” he adds. The two landed on a “modern Old Hollywood” influence, which was also brought to life with help from Corrin’s hair and makeup team, Gina Kane and Dan Martin. “We looked at Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich. That’s where the conversation started and then they morphed into their own thing, as they normally do with me and Harry,” Corrin says. The tour begot a host of jaw-dropping looks: Schiaparelli couture, Saint Laurent’s buzzy fall 2024 collection, and custom pieces from Miu Miu and Nina Ricci. It was also a chance for the pair to spotlight emerging talents like LVMH Fund finalist Hodakova and Central Saint Martins graduates Freddy Coomes and Joshua Ewusie. “I love Harry and we very much have a shared sense of style, and a shared sense of risk-taking. We get enjoyment out of being fun and a bit unexpected with looks,” Corrin says.Below, Emma Corrin takes us behind the scenes with exclusive photos of their globe-spanning Deadpool & Wolverine press tour.
