She’s calling for an urgent amendment.
A disgruntled woman is urging grocery delivery apps to let users select the sex of their shopper after alleging a male employee got 80% of her order wrong.
The app user, named Sammi, took to TikTok to share her divisive declaration, before many chimed in agreeing that females are simply better at carrying out quests at the grocery store.
“If you are not the CEO of DoorDash or Instacart, keep scrolling. This is not for you,” Sami stated at the outset of her video.
“I am begging you to make an update on your app where I can request a female shopper.”
She went on to explain that she recently placed an order for five items — and only one item was correct.
Sammi alleges she ordered a half gallon of store-brand milk and received a quarter gallon of Tuscan milk.
She additionally ordered a Chopped Caesar Salad Kit and got the Ultimate Caesar Salad Kit, though she admitted that she was expecting this from her shopper because you have to look “slightly harder” for the chopped kit, and “a man would never.”
Sammi also got a log of mozzarella rather than the pearls because “again, you have to look slightly harder.”
To make it worse, she also so requested Land O’Lakes Garlic and Herb Butter and even told the male shopper to refund the item if it wasn’t available rather than finding a replacement.
However, the man still went ahead and replaced it with Land O’Lakes Canola Oil Butter.
The only thing the shopper got correct was store-brand Italian seasoning.
“I just think we should make it to where men cannot be shoppers for Instacart or Doordash but that would be discrimination,” she noted.
She shared that she eventually got a full refund, but she wasn’t the only woman to go through frustrating experiences with male shoppers.
“I ordered tampons & was substituted white mushrooms. I have been telling this story for like 4 years because I am still not over it,” one viewer of the viral TikTok shared.
“A man substituted my ground beef for a watermelon and I’m still confused about it,” another commented.
“I one time ordered overnight always pads and ended up with a package of napkins so I unfortunately feel your pain,” someone said.
Others shared experiences where they had a female shopper go above and beyond for them.
“I had a lady who once asked if I wanted parmesan because it was on sale and she thought it would go well with what else I had ordered,” one recalled.
“I had a woman throw in a get well card (with her own money) because she could tell all the items I was ordering were for being sick: chicken noodle soup ingredients, and a ton of medicines. Elite,” another shared.
“My last lady shopper messaged me concerned that the grapes didn’t look good and she didn’t want me to have bad ones. Meanwhile the dude brought me expired lunch meat,” someone else wrote.
