Brittany Mahomes vetoed the name her daughter Sterling wanted to give baby No. 3.
“My daughter wants me to name her Elsa,” Patrick Mahomes’ wife told Today.com in an interview published Thursday, noting that the 3-year-old “was set on it for a while.”
She clarified, “But, obviously, we’re not doing that!”
Brittany and Patrick, both 29, named their baby girl Golden to follow their metal theme when she arrived on Sunday — but had a hard time choosing her middle name, Raye.
“We went back and forth for a while,” she explained. “But the one we settled on, we really, really love.”
Brittany went on to tell the outlet that son Bronze, 2, had been referring to the upcoming arrival as “baby sissy.”
She said, “I’m not sure if it’s registered that an actual human is coming. And Sterling is completely obsessed. She loves to play with babies.”
Brittany and Patrick announced in July 2024 that their family was expanding.
Golden made her Instagram debut on Monday, with the couple posting a black-and-white photo of her feet that Taylor Swift “liked.”
Patrick opened up about the infant at a press conference Tuesday.
“It’s cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how our kids react to her,” the Kansas City Chiefs player said. “Having baby sissy and stuff like that.”
He spoke about trying to “be supportive” of Brittany as she was “doing everything” for the newborn.
The quarterback also revealed that he was open to “maybe” welcoming a fourth baby somewhere “down the line” — despite previously saying he was “done.”
Patrick and Brittany have been together since high school and tied the knot in March 2022 in Hawaii.
Sterling and Bronze were born in February 2021 and November 2022, respectively.
