Amy Adams is fully on board with taking on the role of Tree Paine — if the opportunity presents itself, of course.
“That would be amazing,” Adams, 50, said during a Tuesday, December 3, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when the show’s host brought up the idea, which has been floating around social media. “That would be so fun.”
Fans of Swift, 34, have been manifesting a biopic made about Paine, 53, who is Taylor Swift‘s longtime publicist. Adams seemed to be elated about the notion, especially if it gets her “closer” to Swift.
“I’ve always liked her music and appreciated her,” the actress said. Adams admitted that she became a “Swiftie at 50” after getting a chance to see Swift’s Eras Tour.
“I’m like a shifty, 50, Swiftie. … I’m like, isn’t that nifty? And my daughter is going, ‘Oh, I hate this for you,’” Adams continued, noting that she used to be a low-key Swift fan. The Eras Tour, however, changed that.

“I suddenly went from like, normal, to like, ‘I’ll take all the friendship bracelets!’ I was like, who am I?” she said. Host Jimmy Fallon then asked Adams whether she had ever met Swift.

“I have, actually. Years ago,” Adams recalled, explaining that they crossed paths at an awards show afterparty. “I know better than to go to the second party. But I chose to go to the second party and Taylor Swift was there. There was karaoke.”
Adams and Swift sang the song “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes.
“I may have sang it a little loud and I’m sure everybody was like, ‘Amy, shut up! We want to hear Taylor sing.’ I was just in it,” Adams said. “I had a blast. And now in reflection, if I were to do it now, I would be so different.”
Adams joked to Fallon, 50, that she “did the right thing” at the end of the day. “I sang really loud over Taylor Swift, and probably not great either,” she quipped.

Back in August, Adams attended the Eras Tour in Los Angeles with Elizabeth Banks in the Casamigos lounge.
“Taylor Swift, Sofi Stadium, Night 1: She was an Angel and a Unicorn and Pure Magic,” Banks, 50, captioned a selfie she snapped alongside Adams on August 3. “Thanks @casamigos for bringing us together to enjoy Eras w 70k other fans.”
Swift is set to play the last three shows of her Eras Tour this coming weekend, putting an end to the year and half long tour on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.
