Indian travelers to Singapore have continued to rise, surpassing the 1 million mark with a 12% increase in visitors from India between January and October 2024 compared to the previous year. However, the number has not yet recovered to pre-pandemic levels, when Singapore welcomed 1.4 million Indian tourists. The Singapore Tourism Board had previously expressed hopes of reaching 1.5 million tourists from India in 2024 but did not set a specific target. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation data shows that short-haul destinations remain popular among Indian travelers, with the United Arab Emirates being the top destination followed by Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Qatar.

The merger of Air India and Vistara has been completed, creating a single full-service carrier in India operating over 5,600 weekly flights under the Air India brand. The loyalty programs of both airlines have been combined into a new program called ‘Maharaja Club.’ Industry experts believe this merger could lead to increased service standards within the Indian aviation industry, as the combined entity has a fleet of 208 aircraft.
