At the 2024 Netflix Is a Joke Festival, Nick Kroll and the cast of “Big Mouth” surprised the audience by bringing a woman onstage to get a tattoo. Becca Calb, a star from another show, was preselected and paid to get a vulgar tattoo of the animated character Marty Glouberman, voiced by Richard Kind. Kroll was disappointed that there were no Marty tattoos in the collection fans had gotten over the show’s eight seasons, so he made sure Calb got one on stage.

Kroll, Kind, and a tattoo artist named Ridge worked backstage to create the tattoo on Calb, featuring Marty in a compromising sexual position wearing a saddle. Despite some discomfort, Calb and Kind shared their thoughts on the process throughout the show, with Kind finding it fascinating and Calb saying it was a great experience. At the end of the show, they revealed the finished tattoo to the audience, who cheered and praised the work done by Ridge.

Following the event, Calb shared on social media that the experience was “absolutely insane.” The star-studded evening also included surprise appearances from Kristen Wiig, Nathan Fillion, and Adam Lambert. Mulaney performed a duet with Lambert, and Fred Armisen dressed as a tampon and sang a song from the show. Other stars from “Big Mouth” were also part of the live event, performing various bits from the series.

The final season of “Big Mouth,” which follows a group of preteens navigating puberty, is set to air in 2024. The Netflix Is a Joke Festival, featuring over 500 shows, took place in various venues around Los Angeles from May 2 to 12.
