The body of police officer Ahmet Şahan, who was killed during an operation in Kastamonu, was transported from Kastamonu to Nevşehir by road. A ceremony was held in a mosque in the Abdi village of the Kozaklı district for Şahan, where his family and loved ones mourned his loss. The funeral prayer was led by the Provincial Mufti Kazım Güzel in the afternoon, after which Şahan was laid to rest in the village cemetery.

The ceremony was attended by the family and relatives of the martyr, as well as Nevşehir Governor Ali Fidan, Deputy Minister of Interior Mehmet Aktaş, AK Party Nevşehir Deputies Süleyman Özgün and Emre Çalışkan, Kozaklı Mayor Sefer Neslihanoğlu, Colonel Bahittin Murat Yakın, Commander of the Provincial Gendarmerie, Ali Loğoğlu, Provincial Police Chief, and representatives of public institutions, civil society organizations, political parties, and citizens.

In Kastamonu, İnönü Mahallesi Afşin Sokak, a suspect named İsmail Bayam who had escaped from prison for drug offenses, opened fire on a police team during a raid on his house yesterday, injuring police officers Ahmet Şahan and Arif Ay. The suspect was eventually neutralized by special operations police. Unfortunately, police officer Şahan could not be saved and succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a grieving family and a mourning community.
