A bus with approximately 20 passengers, with license plate number 65 BJ 330, veered off the road and fell into a stream at Yoncabaşı village on the Bitlis-Van highway. Following the report of the accident, emergency services including 112 Emergency Health, fire brigade, AFAD, police, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

Both emergency teams and passengers helped to rescue the injured driver and 6 passengers from the bus, who were then transported to Tatvan State Hospital by health teams. Fortunately, the condition of the injured individuals was reported to be stable and they were receiving medical treatment at the hospital.

The Governor of Tatvan, Remzi Demir, and the Mayor, Mümin Erol, visited the accident site to assess the situation and gather information about the incident. Meanwhile, the remaining passengers on the bus were transported to Van by another bus that arrived at the scene following the accident.

One of the passengers, Emrah Can, shared his account of the incident stating that they were traveling from Tatvan to Van when the accident occurred. He mentioned that it was raining at the time and the driver lost control while making a turn, causing the bus to fall into the stream. Despite the front windshield being submerged in water, they managed to break the glass and safely exit the bus.

Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident and to ensure the safety of the road for future travels. The authorities are also providing support and assistance to the passengers involved in the accident, while emphasizing the importance of following safety measures and driving regulations to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
