Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary Coulter on When Calls the Heart, is already thinking about Elizabeth and Nathan’s future wedding, despite the fact that they are not yet engaged. Hutton expressed her desire for Rosemary to play a role in the wedding, possibly as the maid of honor or wedding planner, rather than the officiant. She also pointed out that Rosemary was a significant help to Elizabeth in planning her wedding to Jack during season 5.

Kavan Smith, who plays Leland Coulter on the show, mentioned that his role in Elizabeth and Nathan’s potential wedding would be smaller. He joked that Leland might only be asked to usher people to their seats. The relationship between Elizabeth and Nathan has been a long journey for fans, starting with Nathan professing his love for Elizabeth in season 8. After Elizabeth chose another man over him, their romance was reignited in season 11, leading to a public confession of their relationship at the end of the season.

While the possibility of a season 12 wedding has not been confirmed, Hutton revealed that Rosemary and Elizabeth will share many scenes in the new season. She hinted at a funny storyline involving physical comedy and an interesting dynamic between Rosemary and her husband. Before the premiere of season 12 of When Calls the Heart, fans can see Hutton and Smith costarring in their first Hallmark Mystery film, Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement, where they play Nelly Parker and Michael Hogan respectively.

Hutton described her character, Nelly, as having layers of intrigue and hopes that viewers will be invested in learning more about her in potential future movies. Smith praised Hutton’s portrayal as being right in her wheelhouse due to the quirky nature of the character. He mentioned that his character, Michael, interacts differently with the cast of characters in the film, as he is new to the town.

Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement is set to premiere on Hallmark Mystery on Friday, August 23, at 9 p.m. ET. Hutton expressed her excitement for the film and the potential for more movies in the future. Smith believed that the idea for the movie was a no-brainer for him and Hutton, as they had a great rapport and chemistry on set. He hoped that they would get the opportunity to delve deeper into Michael’s character in potential sequels.
