Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced that a total of 1,329 operations were carried out against the ISIS terrorist organization between June 1, 2023, and March 25, 2024. He stated that 2,919 suspects were captured during these operations, with 692 of them being arrested.

Of the captured suspects, 531 have been placed under judicial control, while legal proceedings for 187 individuals are still ongoing. In his message, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the continuous efforts being made throughout the year to combat terrorism, stating, “I would like our esteemed nation to know that we are conducting operations day and night, in all seasons, with determination until the last terrorist is neutralized.”

Yerlikaya highlighted that the suspects captured in operations coordinated by the Republic Chief Prosecutors, General Directorate of Security Intelligence Department, and Counterterrorism Department, and carried out by the Provincial Police Departments, were found to have held responsible positions within the organization and provided financial support to the terrorist group in provinces such as Adıyaman, Antalya, Batman, Bingöl, Bolu, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Elazığ, İstanbul, Giresun, Hatay, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Kilis, Kocaeli, Konya, Kütahya, Malatya, Mersin, Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tokat, Trabzon, Yalova, and Yozgat.

As a result of the operations, a significant amount of foreign currency, organizational documents, and digital materials were seized. Yerlikaya commended the Republic Chief Prosecutors and the brave police officers who carried out the operations, stating, “I congratulate you. May Allah protect you. The prayers of our nation are with you.”

Yerlikaya stressed the importance of continued vigilance and determination in the fight against terrorism, expressing the government’s commitment to maintaining the operation tempo until the last terrorist is eliminated. He reassured the public of the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
