House of the Dragon star Olivia Cooke recently shared a nervous encounter with Tom Cruise on the set of her film, Ready Player One. She recalled feeling overwhelmed when she heard that Cruise, a friend of director Steven Spielberg, was going to visit the set. Cooke was wearing a unique outfit with cameras and lights attached when she met Cruise, and she admitted to “blacking out” during the encounter. She described bowing like a servant and shaking Cruise’s hand before walking away with her friend.

While recounting the experience on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Cooke joked that there was a “void of chemistry” between herself and Cruise. The actress is set to reprise her role as Queen Alicent Hightower in the upcoming season 2 of House of the Dragon, which airs on HBO. As the battle for the Iron Throne intensifies between Queen Alicent’s son, King Aegon II, and her former friend, Rhaenyra Targaryen, Cooke teased that viewers can expect a season filled with bloodshed, legacy, power, sexuality, and of course, dragons.

During the House of the Dragon season 2 premiere, Cooke’s castmates revealed whether they are Team Green (representing Aegon and House Hightower) or Team Black (the Targaryen colors). Actors Tom Glynn-Carney and Ewan Mitchell, who play Queen Alicent’s son King Aegon II and Prince Aemond Targaryen respectively, revealed their allegiance. Glynn-Carney admitted to rooting for the Blacks, as a feminist wanting to see a woman in power, despite playing for Team Green on the show. Mitchell, on the other hand, is Team Green through and through.

Overall, Cooke’s recounting of her nervous encounter with Tom Cruise provided a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes interactions on the set of Ready Player One. As she prepares for the upcoming season 2 of House of the Dragon, viewers can look forward to a season filled with intense drama as the battle for the Iron Throne plays out between rival factions. The cast’s differing loyalties to Team Green and Team Black add an interesting dynamic to the upcoming season, promising to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
