Newly uncovered photos of President Biden meeting with Hunter Biden’s Chinese business associates in China while he was serving as vice president have brought further scrutiny to his claim that he never discussed business with his son. The photos, obtained through litigation against the National Archives and Records Administration, show Joe Biden introducing his son to Chinese President Xi Jinping and then-Vice President Li Yuanchao. They also show Joe Biden posing with Hunter’s business associates from BHR Partners, including Jonathan Li and Ming Xue. America First Legal stated that these photos shed light on the connections between the Bidens, Hunter’s Chinese business associates, and Chinese government officials.
According to the House Oversight Committee’s investigative findings, Hunter Biden arranged for his father to meet with Jonathan Li and other BHR executives during a 2013 trip to China. The committee found that Hunter arranged for Mr. Li to have access to Vice President Biden’s political power in exchange for participating in the BHR deal. Hunter Biden himself acknowledged introducing his father to Jonathan Li during a coffee meeting and stated that he did not inform his father about Li’s background. Joe Biden has consistently denied any involvement in his son’s businesses, claiming he has never spoken to Hunter about his overseas business dealings.
Emails obtained by Fox News have cast doubt on Joe Biden’s claim of not discussing business with his son. In one email, Hunter requested keys for Joe and Jill Biden, along with his uncle, Jim Biden, for space he was sharing with a Chinese energy company chairman. Another email from Hunter to the chairman urged the chairman to send a $10 million wire transfer to fund the Biden joint venture with the company. Former business partner Devon Archer testified before the House Oversight Committee that Hunter put his father on speakerphone during meetings with business partners to sell “the brand.”
The photos of the Bidens meeting with Hunter’s Chinese business associates have sparked strong criticism on social media, as they contradict President Biden’s claims that he never discussed business with his son. The photos renew scrutiny of a 2014 email exchange in which Hunter Biden expressed willingness to introduce his business associates to a top Chinese Communist Party official to discuss potential investments. The email exchange occurred after the official sat at Hunter’s table during a dinner welcoming Joe Biden to Beijing in 2013. The email exchange further highlights the close business ties between the Bidens and Chinese businessmen.
President Biden recently pardoned his son, Hunter, for any potential crimes dating back to 2014. In a statement, Biden defended his decision to pardon his son, stating that he would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decisions. Despite the pardon, more evidence continues to emerge, showing how the Biden family benefited from Joe Biden’s long career in public office for private gain. America First Legal is committed to uncovering the full story of the Biden family’s alleged corruption. Requests for comments from the White House, Hunter Biden’s legal team, and the Chinese businessmen in the photos have gone unanswered.
