Each week, Alexa curates a guide to the best fashion drops, hotel openings, restaurant debuts, and celeb-studded cultural events in New York City. The luxury list for the week includes a new Daily Provisions location on the Upper East Side, a colorful makeover for the Tompkins Square Park basketball courts, and homeware designs debut by Diane Keaton. Daily Provisions is an all-day cafe founded by Danny Meyer and Union Square Hospitality Group, offering a variety of breakfast and lunch options, including BECs, crullers, sandwiches, salads, and roast chicken. The new location is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and has been a hit among area residents.

Tompkins Square Park’s basketball courts received a vibrant transformation courtesy of Glossier, artist Na Chainkua Reindorf, Project Blackboard, and the NYC Parks Department. The collaboration resulted in bold, colorful artwork adorning the courts, adding a dramatic touch to the space. The courts were previously featured in a Glossier campaign four years ago and are now open to the public for all to enjoy. The design has been described as an “unblinking eye that gazes back” and stands out with its colorful and eye-catching appearance.

Herman Miller reintroduced several iconic pieces by designer Gilbert Rohde, who played an instrumental role in introducing modern furniture design to the United States. Four pieces, including the 1941 Easy chair and Paldao occasional tables, are now available for the first time in decades and are considered as relevant today as they were 83 years ago. The pieces can be purchased in-store or online at HermanMiller.com.
