Fast food chains are a popular choice among Americans due to their convenience and affordability. With options like McDonald’s, Starbucks, In-N-Out, and Wendy’s, there is a variety of choices for those looking for a quick meal on the go. However, not all fast food chains are created equal, and some are more favored than others by customers.

In a study conducted by CouponBirds in September, the best and worst chain restaurants in the United States were determined based on customer reviews. The study only considered businesses with four or more locations, with the top spot going to Chick-fil-A, which was rated 3.95 out of 5. Chick-fil-A was categorized as a ‘super-chain’ with 1,000 or more locations, followed by Five Guys and Jersey Mike’s Subs in the second and third spots, respectively. Waffle House and Starbucks rounded out the top five.

In terms of restaurant sizes, In-N-Out was named the best medium-sized chain with a rating of 4.21 out of 5, while Acai Republic won for the best small franchise with a rating of 4.44 out of 5. The study also found that California and West Virginia had the best chain restaurants overall. Interestingly, Taco John’s was ranked as the worst fast food chain in America with a cumulative rating of 2.61 out of 5, followed by McDonald’s, Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee, and Popeyes.

Despite Chick-fil-A being crowned as America’s favorite fast food chain, there is always potential for change as tastes and preferences evolve. With Taco John’s ranking as the worst chain restaurant, it shows that customer satisfaction plays a crucial role in determining the success of these establishments. It remains to be seen which chains will rise or fall in the future, as customer ratings continue to shape the landscape of the fast food industry.
