An explosion occurred on the ground floor of a three-story apartment building on 1524 Street in the Abdi İpekçi neighborhood, believed to be caused by a natural gas leak. The explosion resulted in a fire in the apartment.

Upon receiving the report, health, police, and fire department teams were dispatched to the area.

According to initial assessments, 10 people were injured in the explosion and were taken to nearby hospitals after receiving initial medical treatment.

The fire has been extinguished as a result of the work of the fire department teams, but some of the apartments in the building have also suffered damage.

Kocaeli Governor İlhami Aktaş stated, “We believe that a natural gas fire occurred in the Darıca district. According to initial assessments, we have 10 injured individuals. Our teams are continuing their intervention.”
