Mobile homes in Katy and Porter Heights were damaged or destroyed, with significant damage also reported at a fire station. Flight delays were experienced at Houston’s main airports, Bush Intercontinental and Hobby, due to the storms.
As of Saturday night, over 111,000 customers were without power in Mississippi, with an additional 61,000 without power in Louisiana. Damage assessments were expected to begin in the early morning hours to determine the extent of the destruction. Severe weather across the U.S. has caused disruptions throughout the holiday week, including ground stops at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field on Thursday.
