Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account that a 6-year-old child named E.A.A was hit by a motorcycle without a license plate while crossing a pedestrian crossing in the Karadeniz neighborhood of Gaziosmanpaşa district in Istanbul on May 19.

Gaziosmanpaşa District Police Department has launched an investigation to apprehend the motorcycle driver, as stated by Yerlikaya, and he mentioned that 120 security camera footage along a 7-kilometer route from the scene of the incident has been examined.

Yerlikaya congratulated the heroic police officers for capturing the 21-year-old F.S, who was driving the motorcycle, and the 23-year-old A.Ç, who was riding on the back. He said, “I congratulate our hero police officers. The prayers of our people are with you. We are determined to capture those who commit crimes and those who act in a way that hurts the conscience of society and deliver them to justice.”
