A minibus carrying 21 hazelnut workers, driven by Ömer Kaya, lost control in the Cami neighborhood of Atakum district. The minibus overturned after failing to take the turn.
In the accident, the driver, as well as passengers Serpil Sancak, Sena Gül, Zeynep Demircan, Feriye Kaya, Ümmühan Us, Nurten İçken, Onur Karaman, Semiha Demircan, Yunus Emre Muştu (17), Berkan Bektaş, Lütfiye Civelik, Sapriye Şener, Arif Bektaş and Nurten İçigen, were injured.
The injured were taken to hospitals in the city, and it was reported that their health conditions were stable.
