Remitly, a digital remittance company, recently appointed Spyro Karetsos as its new chief compliance officer. Karetsos previously held the same role at Google before joining Remitly and has also held executive roles at TD Ameritrade, SunTrust, Vanguard, and Goldman Sachs. Remitly reported a revenue of $269.1 million in its most recent quarter, marking a 32% increase year-over-year. However, the company’s stock has decreased by more than 30% this year. Additionally, last month, Remitly hired Ronit Peled as its new chief people officer.

Saurabh Tiwary, a longtime executive at Microsoft, transitioned to Google as the vice president and general manager of Cloud AI. With 11 years at Microsoft, Tiwary most recently served as corporate vice president, leading a team that contributed to building Microsoft’s Copilot products and services. Prior to his time at Microsoft, Tiwary worked at Google as a software engineer from 2010 to 2013. Other key personnel changes in the Pacific Northwest tech ecosystem include Craig Saunders, a former Amazon director who joined London-based Builder.ai as the vice president of artificial intelligence. Additionally, Sam Cook, a former design leader at Seattle startup Fixie.ai, joined Microsoft as a principal product design manager.

Madrona recently welcomed Rolanda Fu and Rasik Parikh as investors. Fu brings experience from EY-Parthenon, while Parikh previously worked at Cascadia Capital. Todd Ludwig joined Valid8 Financial as the executive vice president for sales, bringing his expertise from previous roles at DataVisor, Shape Security, IBM, HP Enterprise, and Akamai. Seattle startup Syndio appointed Regan Zeebuyth as the vice president of communications, who previously worked at Amazon and Starbucks. Madrona Venture Labs also added Elizabeth Webber as a product lead, who had previous experience at Outreach, Rover, and Amazon. Jake Milstein joined Contrast Security as the vice president of corporate communications after serving as the chief marketing officer and chief revenue officer at Critical Insight.
