Rapper Polo G, whose real name is Taurus Bartlett, was arrested in lower Manhattan after a loaded Glock was found in the room he was staying in at a luxury hotel. The maid who discovered the gun alerted the authorities, leading to his arrest on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. The California-based rapper is known for his successful debut album “Die a Legend” which charted on the Billboard 200.

During his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court, Polo G’s attorney, Stacey Richman, emphasized his dedication to his rap career as she argued for no bail. Despite prosecutors labeling him as a flight risk due to his past legal issues, Judge Kevin McGrath set his bail at $25,000 which was promptly paid by the rapper. Polo G has faced previous run-ins with the law, including a misdemeanor conviction and arrests for kidnapping, robbery, and assault charges in Los Angeles.

Polo G, born in Chicago, rose to fame with hit singles like “Finer Things” and “Pop Out,” featuring Lil Tjay. His debut album “Die a Legend” reached No. 6 on the US Billboard 200 and achieved platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Despite the setback caused by his recent arrest, he is set to release his fourth album, “Hood Poet,” later this year after it was delayed due to his prior legal issues.

The upcoming court date for Polo G is scheduled for June 4, where he will likely appear virtually. His attorney has not commented on the recent court appearance, but it is clear that Polo G is determined to continue his music career despite the legal troubles he has faced. The incident at the hotel has raised concerns about the rapper’s involvement with firearms, adding another chapter to his turbulent history with the law. Despite the challenges, Polo G remains focused on his music and is eager to share his upcoming album with his fans.
