In January, 61-year-old Brent George allegedly approached a table at Belle Vue Lounge inside Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and taunted a girl with Down Syndrome, leading to a confrontation with her family. The girl’s mother, Candance Boyette Goldberg, demanded to know if he was making fun of her daughter, which escalated into shoving and slapping. George also punched the woman’s daughter-in-law and was punched back by her husband. A bystander eventually intervened to remove George from the restaurant.

George claimed that he had been struck by a glass cup during the fight, but no glass was found at the scene. He and his group had been drinking at the bar before the incident, and George alleged that the family of four attacked him. The family provided written statements to the police and expressed a desire to seek prosecution. George, on the other hand, requested to press charges against the family but declined to provide a statement to the police. He was arrested for striking the family and charged with four counts of battery, for which he spent a night in Orange County Jail.

Following his arrest, George’s wife, Marla George, paid his $4,000 bond the next day. George pleaded not guilty to the charges according to court documents. The incident involving the drunken taunting and subsequent scuffle at the Disney World restaurant resulted in legal consequences for George, who is now facing charges of battery. The case is ongoing, with George maintaining his innocence in the matter. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of understanding and respecting others’ differences, as well as the potential consequences of inappropriate behavior in public settings.
