A 33-year-old man, Maxwell Anderson, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson in connection with the slaying of a woman whose leg was found on the beach of a lakefront park near Milwaukee. The victim, Sade Robinson, had been reported missing on April 2, and surveillance video showed her with Anderson at a restaurant bar on April 1. Her burned car was discovered the next morning. Anderson was arrested on April 4, two days after the discovery of the severed leg at Warnimont Park along Lake Michigan in Cudahy.

Following the initial discovery of the severed leg, additional human remains were found on April 5 and April 6, though they have not been positively identified as belonging to Robinson. Despite this, Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball stated that authorities do not believe there are any other victims connected to the case at this time. Anderson, who is currently jailed on a $5 million bond, is set to undergo a preliminary examination on April 22. An attorney listed as representing Maxwell was not immediately available for comment.

The criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County circuit court details the circumstances surrounding Robinson’s disappearance and eventual death. A friend reported her missing on April 2, and an employee of the building where Robinson lived stated that she had been excited about a date she had planned for April 1. The investigation into Robinson’s death revealed a connection between her and Anderson, as they were seen together on surveillance footage from a restaurant on the evening of April 1. The discovery of Robinson’s severed leg, along with the subsequent finding of additional human remains, raised alarm and led to Anderson’s arrest.

As the case continues to unfold, authorities are working to positively identify the additional human remains found in connection with the investigation. The community has been shaken by the gruesome nature of the crime, with concerns about the safety and well-being of residents in the area. The developments in the case have prompted discussions about the need for increased awareness of potential dangers and the importance of reporting any suspicious or concerning behavior to law enforcement. The upcoming preliminary examination for Maxwell Anderson will provide further insight into the events leading up to Robinson’s death and the evidence linking him to the crime.
