Lily Collins is back as Emily in the fourth season of “Emily in Paris,” and she is embracing a new beauty philosophy that focuses on a more natural and streamlined look. Head makeup artist Aurélie Payen worked with Collins to achieve a French vibe for her character, opting for either bold looks or a very minimal “no-makeup makeup” appearance in some scenes, with barely any makeup at all. Payen emphasized the importance of a beautiful skin prep routine, especially during the show’s long shoots, and recommended the Foreo Luna 4 Mini and The Cream from Brad Pitt’s Beau Domaine line as essential products for the on-set arsenal.

When it comes to perfecting Lily Collins’ iconic brows, Payen uses products like a Benefit brow filler to create the appearance of fuller brows. She then sets the look in place with clear brow gel to ensure a polished finish. Payen also revealed that she uses a classic Dior lipstick to achieve a Parisian vibe with bold red lips, adding a touch of glamour to the character’s look. In addition to high-end products, Payen also includes affordable options in her arsenal, such as a French drugstore brand’s cleansing emulsion to keep the skin glowing and radiant under the spotlight.

To enhance the characters’ looks and ensure they shine in the City of Light, Payen uses a long-lasting mascara that withstands the 12-to-14-hour shoots on set. She also relies on Lisa Eldridge’s lipsticks and a black eyeliner to create various lip and eye looks for the show. One of the most challenging looks of the season was Emily’s “wet look” for a beach party scene, which featured slicked-back hair and ’80s-inspired green eyeshadow. Payen shared a hack using Myricks’ clear lip gloss to keep the eye look shimmering throughout the shoot, explaining that she applies the gloss just before the scene begins to ensure a lasting effect.

Payen’s attention to detail and skill in creating a variety of makeup looks for Lily Collins’ character showcases her expertise as a talented makeup artist. By incorporating a mix of high-end and affordable products into her on-set arsenal, she is able to achieve the desired Parisian chic aesthetic while ensuring the makeup holds up under the long hours of filming. Payen’s dedication to enhancing each character’s features and bringing out their personalities through makeup highlights her commitment to her craft and contributes to the overall visual appeal of the show. With her passion for beauty and creativity, Payen continues to elevate the looks of the characters on “Emily in Paris,” setting the tone for the show’s signature style and glamour.
