Bang Bang Bangkok is a unique dining experience located in Brooklyn, offering customers a virtual tour of Thailand’s capital city through immersive projection technology. Modeled after a bus, the restaurant provides customers with a sensory journey around Bangkok, with a 10-course tasting menu enhancing the experience. The restaurant is the brainchild of Jugkrwut Borin, who aims to provide an unforgettable experience for diners.

To create the illusion of a trip to Bangkok, Borin’s team filmed iconic landmarks in the city and used projection mapping technology to transform the restaurant’s interior into a bus tour. With this technology, customers can almost smell the scents of the night market or feel the hustle and bustle of the city’s streets. The goal is to bring the beauty of Bangkok to New York City through this innovative dining experience.

The menu at Bang Bang Bangkok offers European-inflected deconstructions of Thai classics, such as the Bangkok trio featuring pork tart, steamed pork dumpling, and cold lobster soup. Other dishes like the Noble, which includes smoked duck with red curry sauce and lychee puree, are also available. Each course is accompanied by a presentation from the manager, providing insights into the dishes and locales being showcased.

In addition to the culinary delights, patrons can enjoy a mango sticky rice dessert with a twist, featuring a mango sorbet, sticky rice cake, and coconut mousse. The total price for two people to experience this culinary journey is $357. Bang Bang Bangkok is part of a growing trend of immersive dining experiences in NYC, offering diners a multi-sensory experience beyond just taste and smell.

Borin plans to expand the digital tour of Bangkok within the restaurant, with more detailed visuals expected to be unveiled within the next year. By bringing the real essence of Bangkok to New York City, Bang Bang Bangkok aims to transport customers to another world through food and technology. The restaurant is open seven days a week, providing diners with the opportunity to embark on this virtual journey through the sights and flavors of Thailand’s capital.
