Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch on October 25, but players can gain access to the game right now through the open beta. The second round of the open beta runs until September 9, and the only requirement to access it is to preregister or prepurchase the game. Players who digitally preregister on various platforms like Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Battle.net, and the Microsoft Store will be automatically registered for the open beta as soon as they preregister or prepurchase the game. If players preorder from participating retailers, they will receive a 13-digit code to redeem for access to the beta.
For those who are Microsoft Game Pass subscribers or Xfinity Rewards members, access to the beta is immediate on Xbox or the Microsoft Store without the need for preregistration. Activision is encouraging players to participate in the beta to provide feedback for the game prior to its official launch. Twitch drops are also available for those who prefer to watch others play the Black Ops 6 beta. The beta program is available on various platforms, including Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, Battle.net, and the Microsoft Store.
To access the beta on PlayStation, players can search the PlayStation Store for the separate listing for the Black Ops 6 open beta, download it, open the game, and log in to access the beta. On Xbox and PC through the Microsoft Store, players can navigate to the Black Ops 6 listing, select the open beta edition, download it, and log in to start playing. Steam and Battle.net users will need the Call of Duty HQ app installed and either an open beta code or preordering on Steam to access the beta. The beta version of the game will be available through the COD HQ app.
In the Black Ops 6 open beta, players can engage in online multiplayer matches on six core maps and two strike maps. The beta will feature four game modes for players to test out the maps and level up to 20 in the first open beta. The level cap will increase to 30 in the second open beta, along with the addition of more maps and game modes. Players will have access to custom loadouts but will need to reach level 4 to unlock them. Players who preordered the Vault edition will not have access to their preorder guns during the open betas. In case of any issues accessing the beta, players can refer to Activision’s FAQ or the beta information webpage for troubleshooting.
