Kyle Van Noy, a linebacker with the Baltimore Ravens, has criticized the Kansas City Chiefs’ training staff, calling their handling of his eye injury during a September 5 game unprofessional. Speaking on his podcast, Van Noy explained that he had fractured his orbital bone during a game at Arrowhead Stadium and was left waiting in the locker room for medical attention. Van Noy expressed his disappointment with the Chiefs’ training staff, who reportedly took an entire quarter to attend to him in the locker room.

Van Noy claimed that the medical professional who eventually assessed him seemed nonchalant about the situation. He also highlighted that players from the Chiefs had previously given their training staff a failing grade in the NFL Players Association team-by-team report cards. Precisely, The Chiefs ranked 31st out of 32 teams evaluated in the graded rankings, with only the Washington Commanders ranked lower.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh, while unaware of the situation, expressed his respect for medical staff across the league, as well as Kyle Van Noy. Praising Van Noy’s competitiveness and dedication, Harbaugh said he was informed about the linebacker’s remarks about the incident. However, he did not comment further on the matter, stating that he respected everyone involved.

In the podcast, Van Noy clarified that he didn’t need an apology, but he wished the Chiefs’ staff had acted with more professionalism in a time of need. He suggested that he felt let down by the Chiefs’ training staff and hinted, without affirming, the delay could have been because he was a player from a rival team. He emphasized his desire for medical personnel to act professionally, especially during emergencies.

Following the revelations on his podcast, Van Noy was approached for comments by reporters in the team’s locker room but declined to make further statements. He reiterated that he did not expect an apology from the Chiefs’ organization for the incident.

The Chiefs, for their part, have not released any response to Van Noy’s allegations. When reached for comment on the matter, a spokesperson for the Kansas City team declined to provide a statement. The team’s silence has left fans and other observers wondering if there are mitigating circumstances or whether any action will be taken to deal with Van Noy’s concerns.
