The CMT Music Awards are back, celebrating the best in country music videos. The show will be hosted by Kelsea Ballerini and will take place in Austin, Texas. The awards are set to feature a tribute to the late Toby Keith, with performances by Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson, and Sammy Hagar, backed by Keith’s longtime band. Keith, known for his pro-American anthems, passed away earlier this year at the age of 62 after battling stomach cancer.

Leading the nominations this year are Ballerini, Wilson, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney, and Cody Johnson, each with three nominations. All except for Moroney are up for the biggest award of the night, Video of the Year. The lineup of scheduled performers includes Bailey Zimmerman, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Dasha, Jason Aldean, Johnson, and Moroney.

Fans can also expect some exciting collaborative performances during the show. Little Big Town will perform with Sugarland, marking a reunion of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush on the CMT stage for the first time since 2011. Other joint performances include NEEDTOBREATHE and Jordan Davis, as well as Sam Hunt and Trisha Yearwood. Yearwood will be honored with the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award, recognizing her dedication to the community and fellow artists.

In addition to the performances and awards, Yearwood is also set to premiere a new track, “Put It in a Song,” which will be the first single from an upcoming album. The CMT Music Awards aim to showcase the best in country music videos and honor artists who have made a significant impact on the genre. The show will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time, giving fans a chance to connect with their favorite artists and celebrate the country music community.

As country music continues to evolve and grow, the CMT Awards aim to highlight the diversity and talent present within the genre. With a mix of established artists and up-and-coming stars, the show promises to deliver a night of memorable performances and heartfelt tributes. Tune in to watch the biggest names in country music come together to celebrate their achievements and honor the legacy of those who have paved the way for future generations of artists.
