Princess Kate Middleton expressed her regret for her upcoming absence at Trooping the Colour in a personal letter to the Irish Guards. As the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, Kate acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the soldiers who have been preparing for the event. She apologized for not being able to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review but expressed her hope to represent the regiment again soon. Kate also sent her best wishes and good luck to the soldiers participating in the festivities.

Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate will not attend Trooping the Colour due to her ongoing battle with cancer. The Irish Guards responded to Kate’s letter by wishing her well in her recovery and sending their best wishes. The event, which celebrates monarch King Charles III’s birthday, will take place on June 15, with the King watching a military parade and flypast from the Buckingham Palace balcony. Typically, Charles is joined by his family, including Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

In March, Kate revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy treatment. She expressed her gratitude for the support of her husband, William, and the kindness shown by many others. Kate emphasized that she is taking the time needed to focus on healing her mind, body, and spirit and is getting stronger every day. She has canceled all public engagements to focus on recuperating and will only return to royal duties after being medically cleared by her physicians.

Sources revealed that Kate’s team is reevaluating her future royal roles and what she will be able to take on upon her return. It is possible that she may not come back in the same capacity as before. In the meantime, William has continued with his solo engagements and has reassured the public that Kate is doing well. The couple has been managing Kate’s diagnosis privately for the sake of their young family and continue to show resilience and strength in the face of her illness. The support and well wishes from the public and the Irish Guards mean a great deal to the royal family during this challenging time.
