Several Jewish organizations have expressed strong support for Israel’s right and obligation to defend themselves against missile and drone attacks from Iran. The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) emphasized the need for Israel to aggressively defend itself against Iranian attacks, calling for the destruction of Iranian nuclear facilities that pose a threat to Israel’s security. They urged President Biden to support Israel, reinstate sanctions on Iran, and stop providing funds to the Islamic Republic. The ZOA warned that Israel is on the front lines of the fight against Iran, and other western nations could be next in line for attack.

The Israeli-American Council (IAC) also voiced their unwavering support for Israel’s right to defend themselves against Iran and its proxies. They thanked President Biden for his statement of support and emphasized the importance of U.S. leadership and deterrence in ensuring peace and security in the region. The IAC called for action to back up statements of support and expressed concern for the safety of Israelis facing constant threats from Iran. They emphasized the need for unity and solidarity within the Jewish community and urged prayers for peace amidst escalating tensions.

Similarly, the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles (JFEDLA) expressed alarm and concern over Iran’s attack on Israel, highlighting the constant threat faced by the Israeli people. The organization reaffirmed its solidarity with Israel and pledged to provide necessary support and resources to help in the aftermath of the attack. Rabbi Noah Farkas emphasized the resilience of Israel and the unity of the global Jewish family in standing together against these threats. New York City Mayor Eric Adams also expressed unwavering support for Israel in the face of the attack, highlighting the significance of the situation for Jewish New Yorkers.

Mayor Adams assured the Jewish community in New York City of the deployment of additional resources to ensure their safety, despite there being no direct or imminent threat to the city. The NYPD was directed to provide extra security to Jewish communities and worship centers out of an abundance of caution. The mayor emphasized his administration’s outreach to Jewish leaders and elected officials to keep them informed of the situation. The retaliatory attack by Iran marked a significant escalation in tensions between the two nations, with Iran launching a full-scale assault on Israel for the first time in over four decades of hostilities.
