The United States Postal Service released a new Forever stamp featuring the iconic Jeopardy host Alex Trebek. The stamp is styled after one of the video monitors on the clue board from the show, with a clue about Trebek hosting the quiz show for 37 seasons. The stamp was put into circulation four years after Trebek passed away at the age of 80. His wife, Jean, expressed that her husband would have loved this tribute and acknowledged the impact he had on people worldwide.

Jean mentioned during a release event in Los Angeles that hosting Jeopardy was a labor of love for Trebek, and he found pleasure in interacting with the contestants and audience. The stamp features an image of Trebek on a full Jeopardy clue board, with the correct response ‘Who Is Alex Trebek?’ written upside down in the margin. Trebek had been married to Jean since 1990 and they shared two children together, in addition to a child from his first marriage. Jean expressed how proud Trebek was of his children and how he would have been overwhelmed with joy to receive such a distinctive tribute.

Jeopardy host Ken Jennings announced in a June episode of the quiz show that the USPS would issue a Forever stamp in honor of Trebek. The stamp was released on what would have been Trebek’s 84th birthday. Designed by USPS art director Antonio Alcalá, with photography from Sony Pictures Entertainment and hand lettering by Marti Davila, the stamp features a portrait of Trebek and will always be equal in value to the current price of first-class one-ounce mail.

Jean continued to express her gratitude for the tribute to Trebek, stating that he would have felt overwhelmed with humility and joy at receiving his own USPS Forever stamp. She highlighted the impact Trebek had on people around the world during his 37 seasons hosting Jeopardy. The stamp design pays homage to the iconic clue board from the show, reminding fans of Trebek’s legacy and contribution to the world of television.

The release of the Alex Trebek Forever stamp brought together fans and loved ones to celebrate his life and legacy. Trebek’s dedication to Jeopardy and his love for the contestants and audience was evident in the lasting impact he left behind. The stamp serves as a fitting tribute to a man who touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered for his role as the beloved host of Jeopardy for nearly four decades. His wife, Jean, continues to honor his memory and express gratitude for the recognition he has received posthumously.
