Former French President Francois Hollande, who is a candidate in Corrèze, has re-entered the electoral campaign and claims to have “no score to settle.” Hollande was seen shaking hands, smiling for photos, and drinking a beer while walking the streets of Tulle and Ussel in Corrèze, where he is running for the upcoming legislative elections. Representing under the banner of the Nouveau Front populaire (NFP), he faces four opponents who were also candidates in 2022: the incumbent deputy, Francis Dubois (Les Républicains), Maitey Pouget (Rassemblement national), Gilles Oguinena (Reconquête !), and Marie-Thérèse Coinaud (Lutte ouvrière).

Hollande’s campaign has received positive reception, with supporters praising his charismatic nature and popularity for selfies. His main opponent, Francis Dubois, criticized the ideological gap between Hollande and his allies, particularly the “insubordinates.” Dubois emphasized the alliance between the social democrat and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, known for advocating chaos, revolution, and obscurantism. Dubois, supported by Macron’s camp, believes that these are traits rejected by citizens.

In response to criticisms of his alliance with the NFP, which included politicians who opposed his presidency and were labeled as “rebels” at the time, Hollande stated that he maintained unity without confusion. He suggested that Jean-Luc Mélenchon should remain discreet given the hostility towards his persona and expressions. Hollande denied seeking revenge against Emmanuel Macron, highlighting that the era of Macronism has ended and he has no scores to settle.

Hollande accused Macron of damaging political parties and public spirit while reassuring that he has no hidden motives behind his candidacy. He questioned the reason for becoming a deputy again since he has already served as president, emphasizing that there is no presidential election on the horizon. However, he acknowledged that if elected, he would not be like any other deputy, hinting at his unique position and past experience as the head of state.

Former President Francois Hollande, running for the Nouveau Front populaire in Corrèze, was seen posing for a photo in Ussel with his wife, actress Julie Gayet. Hollande’s re-entry into the campaign in Corrèze marks a new chapter in his political career as he navigates through the challenges and criticisms of his opponents. Despite the ideological differences and past conflicts, Hollande remains confident in his campaign as he aims to represent his constituents effectively in the upcoming legislative elections.
